Getting off to a great start. Michelle "my belle" Obama of with a warm and fuzzy speech about her and Barack's family values and how much they love america. Then Hillary gets up and tells everybody what a great person she is, and why the democrats have picked the wrong person. Wait til Bill gets on tonight. Again the polls, as I have told y'all I have no faith in, has Obama down from 2 to 5 points. Point is, is you rely on polls, he ain't getting nowhere. If either of these candidates get elected, we are in trouble.

I've always wondered what it would be like to be able to ignore facts, and just believe what's convenient and/or pleasing. Delta, you'll have to explain some day just how wonderful this is.
Those pesky facts do not include polls that show Sen. Obama "down 2 to 5 points." In fact, while one may, most show him up 2-4 points. But as you say (and I suspect believe when it's convenient or pleasing), polls at this point are pretty meaningless.

I had heard a reference to this a day or so ago, but hadn't heard the whole line. So here it is, the funniest line of the Democratic Convention so far, according to Peggy Noonan--and I agree:
The best line of the convention so far? Ted Strickland of Ohio, when he echoed the 1988 Democratic convention joke about George H.W. Bush, that he was born on third and thought he hit a triple. Strickland said of George W. Bush that he was born on third and then stole second. It didn't get much attention in any of the commentary, but it's all people were talking about in the bars of Denver that night.
Tell you what, Bill Clinton does what he does best. Gave a hellava speech. Think what you want about him, he could be the next president if he could. Obama should have thinken twice before he shortchanged them. Biden is a lightweight, as is Obama when it shakes out. .

I guess you haven't noticed that we're already in trouble.
If Obama is elected, and does nothing much, we will be in much better shape 4 years from now. But I have every confidence that he will actually accomplish a great deal.
