Sorry for the delay Mr. Travers, meant to get this up last week:
For those who have difficulty with the TIFF files on the CD and would like to make a PDF doc of all the file contents:
Here is how I did it.
First, I downloaded/installed the free PDF softward from this company: http://pdf995.com/
You can pay for it, or use the free version which throws an ad at you each time you use it. Personal choice.
Once installed, whenever you go to print anything, your print dialogue box will show one of your printer options to be PDF995.
I put the the SSA CD into the tray. It may open the internet page, but I am not interested in that.
I go to Start, Computer and look at my drives. I right click on my CD drive (in my case, E:/). I click "open". The files will show up, one in particular, called DOCs. I copy the entire DOC file, in its entirety, to my hard drive, right into my client's file where all my other digital documents are kept (correspondence, drafts, etc.).
Once the DOC file is securel on my computer, I open it and see the list of documents. I highlight the entire list, then right click, PRINT. I choose the PDF995 printer. You will soon have to pick a location to save the newly printed PDF, so I save it, again, in the client's folder/file.
Creating the pdf means greater ease (to me) in perusing the contents.
It is also very easy to save portions of this large PDF into smaller sections, if one needs to. For instance, Sending my client a 2 page medical report, I just go to the pdf section
...Click Print, choose PDF995 again, and only choose page # X-Y. The PDF995 print function will then create a new PDF from those pages only, which you can rename, save and send in an email.
