Iraqi Prime Minister, Shiite Cleric Back U.S. Security Pact
Iraq's prime minister and its most influential Shiite cleric have decided to support a security agreement that would allow U.S. troops to remain in the country until the end of 2011, sharply increasing its chances of passage in the Iraqi parliament, officials said Saturday.

All US forces will leave by 2011, Baghdad cabinet agrees
The US and Iraq will formally commit to a pact that withdraws all American forces from the country within three years, and pulls all combat troops out of most provinces by mid-2009, the Iraqi cabinet announced yesterday. The deal for the first time prescribes a timeline for an American departure from Iraq, which the US president-elect, Barack Obama, had foreshadowed as top of his foreign policy agenda when he takes office on January 20.

Deadly duty for Fort Carson
In three years, nine men from that single 3,700-soldier Army brigade have been charged in 10 murders and attempted homicides, all but two in or around Colorado Springs, which is just north of the Army base. Some of the attacks appear frighteningly random; victims were shot and stabbed by men they had never seen before. Four of the victims also served at Fort Carson.
